Jesmond People
The winner of this year's Jesmond Photographic Competition was David Whinham with his photograph "The Fab Four of Jesmond". Runner Up was David Pretswell. All the winning photographs will feature in our 2025 calendar "Jesmond People", available soon from Jesmond...
2024 JesFest
The 80 events which comprised the 2024 Jesmond Community Festival recorded over 12,200 attendances - although of course quite a lot of people attended several events, so there will be a lot of double counting.
Holy Trinity Walking Group
At last, some good weather for a walk! This one was organised by the Holy Trinity Walking Group. to Edmondbyers, on 1 June.
Patience
The last of this year's big Festival musical highlights was Jesmond Choral Group's performance of Gilbert and Sullivan's "Patience", with the help of the Priory Singers, conductor Jonathan Scott, pianist Julia Kennard and a host of guest soloists.
Carnival of the Animals
The very well attended Kids' Organ Prom in St George's Church on 29 May featured Saint-Saens "Carnival of the Animals".
Sporty Crafts
15 children took part in today's "sporty" crafts session in Jesmond Library.
Walking in Jesmond Dene

Recorder Revels
The North East Recorder Orchestra (NERCO) performed a varied programme of "Recorder Revels" at Jesmond United Reformed Church on 25 May. Highlights ranged from Handel to Scott Joplin and Gershwin.

Festival Train Rides
The Tyneside Society of Model and Experimental Engineers once again marked Jesmond Community Festival with a day of "Festival Special" Model Steam Train Rides. This very popular attraction is situated behind the Wylam Brewery, in Exhibition Park.

Close Harmony in May
Dark Sky Voices joined Les Hodgson, Bonnie Brinn and Len Young for a superb and varied evening of "Music for the Pool" at Jesmond United Reformed Church on 18 May. All the money raised will be shared between Jesmond Pool and St Oswald's Hospice.
The Storyteller
27 people aged from 7 months to 79 years joined Chris Bostock and the Storytellers Street Band on the green outside Holy Trinity Church on 18 May, for stories, music and dancing. The weather was glorious and a good time was had by all!
