Jesmond Community Festival

Jesmond Community Festival

SINCE 2005 JESMOND COMMUNITY FESTIVAL HAS BEEN AN ANNUAL SHOWCASE FOR THE WIDE RANGE OF COMMUNITY ACTIVITIES TAKING PLACE IN JESMOND. THE 2020 FESTIVAL HAD TO BE CANCELLED, AS A RESULT OF THE OUTBREAK OF THE COVID PANDEMIC, WHILST THE 2021 FESTIVAL WAS ABLE TO TAKE PLACE IN MODIFIED FORM, THANKS TO THE INGENUITY OF JESMOND’S MANY ENTERPRISING GROUPS. THE 2022 FESTIVAL TOOK PLACE BETWEEN 7 MAY AND 5 JUNE.

This website contains information on all events which took place during the 2022 Jesmond Community Festival. If you have any queries, email info@jesmondfestival.org.uk .

We are very grateful to all the event organisers, and to the organisations which helped to fund publicity for this year’s festival, who included the North Jesmond, South Jesmond and Dene and South Gosforth Ward Committees of Newcastle City Council, Pegasus Jesmond Assembly, part of the Lifestory Group, and Jesmond Community Orchard. Some of our funding was carried over from the cancelled 2020 festival, and any surplus in our funding raised this year will go towards future community festivals in Jesmond.

The photographs below were taken during previous festivals, and show a heritage tour in Jesmond Old Cemetery, the Town Crier, Marjorie Dodds, trying out a vintage motorcycle, and a winning entry in the Glorious Gardens competition.
