Newcastle Preparatory School Art Exhibition: “Sketches in the Footnotes”
A display by pupils of Years 4 and 5 at Newcastle Preparatory School, on show in Jesmond Library, St George’s Terrace NE2 2DL, during normal library opening hours throughout the festival period, from Thursday 30 April to Saturday 30 May.
The pupils have been working with the author Rob Walton to create artwork inspired by his very funny, and creative, book “Please Don’t Read the Footnotes”. Rob is a writer, performer and teacher who grew up in Scunthorpe and now lives in Whitley Bay. His playful poems and stories helped inspire the NPS pupils to make their own fun and imaginative artworks in response.
Thanks to James from Opt Indie Books for helping us make this project happen, and to Jesmond Library for allowing us to share this exciting work with you, as part of Jesmond Community Festival.
Why not pop into the library and admire the children’s work. Don’t miss some of the children’s hilarious recipes – definitely NOT to be tried at home!
