Jesmond Community Festival
Jesmond Community Festival
SINCE 2005 JESMOND COMMUNITY FESTIVAL HAS BEEN AN ANNUAL SHOWCASE FOR THE WIDE RANGE OF COMMUNITY ACTIVITIES TAKING PLACE IN JESMOND. THE 2026 FESTIVAL STARTED ON SATURDAY 2 MAY AND WILL CONTINUE UNTIL SUNDAY 31 MAY.
Details of all the 2026 events currently planned appear on this website, but there may be a few last minute changes, so keep checking for the latest up-to-date information!
We are very grateful to all the event organisers, and to the organisations which helped to fund publicity for the festival, which include the North Jesmond, South Jesmond and Dene and South Gosforth Ward Committees of Newcastle City Council, Bells Yard Regeneration Group, West Jesmond Allotment Association, Jesmond Community Orchard, Jesmond Residents Association, the Friends of Jesmond Library, the Elders Council of Newcastle, the St George’s Church Parochial Church Council and the St Hilda’s Church Parochial Church Council. Some of our funding has also been carried over from previous festivals, and any surplus in our funding raised in 2026 will go towards future community festivals in Jesmond.
The photographs below were taken during previous festivals, and show a heritage tour in Jesmond Old Cemetery, a Snail Race in Jesmond Community Orchard, and the Darling Dollies performing outside St George’s Church.
