Plastic Free Harvest

Plastic Free Harvest

The winner of this year’s Plastic Free Jesmond & Sandyford Award has been announced and it is the cafe Harvest in St George’s Terrace, run by the Ouseburn Coffee Company, which was the first Jesmond catering business to commit to no use of single use plastics. The cafe provides free, good quality tap water to all customers, while also selling re-usable water bottles, which it will re-fill, free of charge.
Tony Waterston, coordinator of Plastic Free Jesmond and Sandyford (part of Keep Jesmond Clean) says “We are delighted that Harvest is leading the way in what we hope will become the norm in a few years time”.
