The Tyneside Mandolin Orchestra will be performing in St Hilda’s Church on Monday 19 May. This will be a lunchtime concert, starting at 1:30 pm. Did you know that there were quite so many types of Mandolin?
If you need further information on the Tour de Jesmond cycle outing, which will be taking place on Sunday 18 May, email Tony Waterston on tony.waterston@ncl.ac.uk . (Unfortunately an extra “e” crept into his email address in the printed version of the festival programme.)
The Axum Folk Ensemble will be performing in Jesmond Library again on Friday 16 May. There are no tickets, but get there soon after the doors open at 7:00pm to ensure that you get a good seat! This year Axum will be supported by the American/Australian duo Mills and Farrell.
Donations please, of at least £8 a head, to support the library and festival. Make a note in your diary now!
Booking for the guided walks is now open! Last year, several of the walks became full up well in advance – so if you are keen to ensure that you get a place, contact the relevant email address as shown on this website. There is Brandling Park, St Andrew’s Cemetery, the Town Moor and several walks in the Dene! Take your pick, but don;t leave it too long!
All the 75 events currently planned for the 2025 Jesmond Community Festival are now listed on this website. All the information will be updated from time to time, when added details become available. It may be that extra events will be added, and we will try to keep you informed of any late cancellations due to weather. Some of the Guided Walks require advance booking – we will let you know if organisers tell us that they are full up.
