Calling all keen gardeners! Get along to Acorn Road at 10:30 am on Saturday morning, 11 May, to snap up some of the bargains on Jesmond Community Orchard’s plant stall. They plan to be there until 2:30 pm, but some of the best items are bound to go first, so don’t leave it too late!
While in the Acorn Road area you can also take in the Art and Craft Exhibition, between 11 am and 3 pm in St Hilda’s and the Taste Food Fair in Jesmond Methodist Church between 11:30 am and 1:00 pm.

Tom Warburton’s Thursday Talk on 9 May in Jesmond Library provided some fascinating insights into the COVID crisis in Newcastle. His book of photographs (still available to purchase in the City Library) seems destined to provide future historians with an invaluable record of what life was like during a period most of us would prefer to forget.

Northumberland Orchestral Society gave a wonderful performance on the first night of this year’s festival, with brilliant soloists Kyra Humphries and Seth Collins performing Brahms as part of Jesmond Community Festival.
