A message from Newcastle High School for Girls, Junior Department:
Join Us for a Community Bat Walk at Sandyford Park
Thursday 22nd May | 9:00 PM – 10:30 PM
Meet at the school gates (off Sandyford Road) from 8:50 PM
We’re excited to welcome members of the community to an evening Bat Walk around our Sandyford Park grounds, led by a Student Naturalist from the Natural History Society of Northumbria, with support from our school staff.
This event offers a unique chance to explore local wildlife after dark and learn more about the bats that inhabit our area. A small number of bat detectors will be available to share, but if you have your own, please feel free to bring it along.
Please dress appropriately for the weather and wear suitable footwear. A headtorch or small torch (ideally with a red light filter) is recommended to help navigate safely in low light.
Our grounds are mostly flat and include paved paths, making them accessible to most visitors. If you have any accessibility needs or questions, don’t hesitate to contact us so we can help make your visit as comfortable and enjoyable as possible.
The number of people that we can accommodate on this event is limited, so please book in advance at www.trybooking.com/uk/ELPN .
