​Dawn Chorus Nature Walk 

Come with the Friends of Jesmond Dene to birdwatch and listen to the wonderful early chorus of diverse birds that live in the Dene. Bring binoculars if you have them; stout shoes are advisable. Yes, this walk starts at 4:30 am, and there will be no toilets available. There will be no charge, but donations to the Friends of Jesmond Dene will be welcome.

Young or old, and whatever your choice in food, drink or music, come and enjoy the music of the Sharp Collective, with guest vocalist. Tickets £15 each – includes a welcome drink, and can be ordered via welcome@holynamejesmond.co.uk . You must purchase a ticket for this event. Bring your own snacks; drinks available from a “Donations” bar. All proceeds to charity.

​”Festival Special” Model Steam Train Rides

Ride on the model railway as guests of the Tyneside Society of Model and Experimental Engineers. The tracks are situated behind the Wylam Brewery, at the northern edge of the park. For more information see www.tsmee.co.uk .

Try Croquet

As part of Jesmond Community Festival Tyneside Croquet Club invites you to try playing croquet at a free taster session with all equipment provided. Flat-soled shoes (such as trainers) are required on the lawn and surrounds. Croquet is an easy to learn, sociable game that can be played by everyone on equal terms. Children (over 6) can play on an adjacent toy set, but must be accompanied by an adult. No dogs on the lawn. The club is situated near the lake and Wylam Brewery. An informal concert by Jesmond’s very own small orchestra, primarily for residents and staff of Craghall. If you would like to join them, please leave plenty of time to check with staff in advance, as space is limited.

French Conversation

Holy Name Church French Conversation Group meets every Monday during term time. The class is suitable for someone with at least GCSE or O level, right up to graduate level. Just turn up! The Heritage of our Home

Discover the history behind one of Jesmond’s most iconic sites, with guests from Central Newcastle High School, which used to occupy the site now occupied by the Pegasus Assembly before merging with the Church High School and moving to Tankerville Terrace.
