Family Adventure Drop-In

The 4th Newcastle Scouts invite you to drop in at any time between 10 am and 1 pm to discover your sense of adventure! We have exciting Scouting activities tailored for young people aged 5 – 12 to try – and see our #SkillsForLife in action. The perfect chance for the whole family to see what Scouting is all about. Pop Up Cafe and Open Church, with Board Games

All ages welcome to pop in for refreshments, board games and a look around the church.

Circle Dancing

Come and try Circle Dancing with Liz Hammer. Beginners welcome; and there is no need to bring a partner! Learn dances from all over the world, traditional and modern, lively and gentle. Experience a sense of community as you dance in a circle. Tea and refreshments. Suggested donation £5, in aid of the Friends of Jesmond Library.

Friday Cafe

An extra event, not mentioned in the printed festival programme. A warm welcome awaits everyone at St George’s weekly cafe – including those living with dementia and their companions. Enjoy hot and cold drinks, delicious home baking – all free of charge (donations welcome). 

Lunchtime Concert

A performance by Rachel Miller (viola) and Ben Newton (piano). Free admission, with a retiring collection in aid of the Peacock Scholarship Fund, to support aspiring young singers. For more information email music@stgeorgesjesmond.org.uk .

Children’s Crafts

Racket Taster Day for Adults and Juniors

A great opportunity to try out a new sport, and view the fine facilities in the Northumberland Club.

Jesmond Vale Heritage Walk

Join the Friends of Jesmond Dene for a guided walk through “old” Jesmond Vale Village, including the old flint mill, Jesmond Vale House and the Ouseburn Culvert. There are some steep places on this route; stout shoes are advisable. No charge, although donations to the Friends of Jesmond Dene are always welcome. There are over 25,000 burials within the walls of this beautiful Victorian cemetery: hear the stories of some of the North East’s famous, and not-so-famous, ladies and gentlemen.
