The opening concert in this year’s Jesmond Community Festival will be the Northumberland Orchestral Society’s Spring Orchestral Concert, featuring solo violinist Kyra Humphreys and her son Seth Collin (cello). The programme will comprise the Brahms Double Concert in A minor, for violin and cello, the Gaelic Symphony by Amy Beach and Hamish MacCunn’s Land of the Mountain and the Flood. Tickets will be £12, Students £6, and Under 18’s and unwaged free. The venue is Jesmond United Reformed Church in Burdon Terrace NE2 3AE. Pay at the door, including by contactless credit card payment. The orchestra will be conducted by Alastair Lord, and led by Amy Gleeson. Not to be missed!
