The Heritage Walk around Jesmond Old Cemetery on 7 May attracted 30 brave souls, despite the un-Spring-like weather! Attendees were rewarded at the end of the fascinating tour with tea, coffee and cheese scones. There are still places available on the next tour of Jesmond Old Cemetery, on Sunday 31 May at 11:00 am. The hardy folks of the Friends of Jesmond Dene managed to go ahead with their Dawn Chorus Nature Walk this morning, although only 7 of the 13 people booked turned up. It didn’t rain too much and the group reported that they heard plenty of birds and saw a bat!
Today’s Open Day at Jesmond Community Orchard has been postponed, owing to the weather.
Please note that the Harpsichord Recital to be held at 1 pm on Friday 8 May will now take place at St Hilda’s Church, Thornleigh Road, not at St George’s.
