The organisers of the 2026 Teddy Bear Trail, the Friends of Jesmond Library, have announced that folk following the trail named this year’s favourite Bear as “The Teddy Who Came to Tea”, who could be viewed outside Newcastle High School for Girls.

A very close second was number 18 in the trail, “Obearlix”, entered by Chris and Meryl. The judges’ runner up could be found hiding in Jesmond Community Orchard: “The Very Hungry Bear”.

We are grateful to Symonds Taylor for printing all the entry forms, Waitrose for donating excellent prizes for different age group winners, Awesome Franks for a generous Voucher, Sainsbury’s for favourite Bear prizes and Tesco for the Teddy Treats.

The theme of this year’s trail was “Ted Loves Books”, to celebrate the National Year of Reading.
