The closing date for entries to this year’s Jesmond Photographic Competition isn’t until Saturday 23 September, so you still have time to take photos on the theme of “A Different Jesmond”. You can obtain entry forms by emailing info@jesmondfestival.org.uk.

The best entries will be included in a 2024 Jesmond Calendar.

Extra Guided Walk

A message from John North……
Dee Pass and I led a walk during the recent Jesmond Festival. It was oversubscribed and inevitably some people were disappointed not to get a place. Dee and I are now offering a final Tyneside Flats to Tankerville walk in the hope that many of the people who failed to get a place first time round will be able to attend. This walk will be on Thursday July 6th at 5.00pm. Places are limited but anyone interested in the walk should email me at norths_2000@yahoo.co.uk and I’ll allocate places on a first come first served basis. As before there is no charge for this walk, but donations to Jesmond Festival funds will be appreciated.

Make sure that you hand in your entries for the Musical Teddy Bear Trail to Jesmond Library by 4:00pm on Tuesday June 6. And there is still plenty of time to enter the photographic competition, whose closing date isn’t until September.

On Sunday 4 June, the last day of the festival, you can take the kids along to the Steam Train rides in Exhibition Park between 11am and 3pm, or you can go and watch the children dancing upstairs at Jesmond Pool (book at erinhdance@outlook.com ).

And this evening, 3 June, at 7:00pm enjoy Music for a Summer Evening with the North East Recorder Orchestra at the URC.

Many thanks to all the fabulous performers and event organisers who have given us such a great Community Festival this year!
