Mark this date in your diary! Friday 12 May for another festival performance by folk ensemble Axum, this time supported by The Elderly Brothers. Donations of at least £8 a head please, to support the library and festival. Refreshments available.

Ceilidh tickets now on sale

All welcome at Jesmond Community Festival’s first Ceilidh for several years, featuring the Redheughers Ceilidh Band. Admission Adults £7, Children (4-16 years) £3, Children under 4 free. Tickets are now available to purchase from Jesmond Library. Bring your own drinks, glasses and snacks. The venue is St Hilda’s Church Hall, Thornleigh Road, Jesmond, close to West Jesmond Metro station and the date is Friday 19 May.

Organ Recitals

Organ Recitals

Every Friday during this year’s Jesmond Community Festival will feature a lunchtime performance on the magnificent organ of St George’s Church. The recitals will start at 1:00 pm and are free, but with a retiring collection in aid of the Organ Restoration Fund.

The guest organist on 12 May will be Daniel Cook, Durham Cathedral, 19 May will feature Tim Harper, Ripon Cathedral, 26 May Paul Ritchie, Newcastle, and 2 June Tamsin Brown, Carlisle.

Outside the Festival period you can also enjoy Drew Cantrill-Fenwick on 5 May, and other guest organists throughout June and July, ending on 21 July with Drew (again!).
