Help Jesmond become plastic-free by celebrating everyone making positive changes! Deadline for entries is Thursday 26th May, with the winner announced at Jesmond Community Festival on Thursday 2nd June. There’ll also be extra prizes for the runners up.
Unfortunately due to unforeseen circumstances Jesmond WI have had to cancel their originally planned “Medical and Humour” talk on the evening of 16 May. However they have been very fortunate to find as a replacement speaker Caroline Mitchell, Professor of Radio and Participation at the University of Sunderland and co-founder of Fem FM, the first women’s radio station in the UK. The meeting is at 7:30 pm in St George’s Church Hall.
The first day of this year’s Jesmond Community Festival enjoyed splendid weather, bringing big crowds to St George’s Spring Fete.
A special visitor turned up at today’s Plant Stall in Acorn Road. The stall was organised by supporters of Jesmond Community Orchard, and as usual, was very popular!
