A late addition to the festival programme, and one of the more unusual events in this year’s Jesmond Community Festival. The “Jesus in Islam” exhibition is promoted by the Islamic Diversity Centre, and takes place in Jesmond Library on 27 May (between 2 and 8pm).
The Heritage Tour in Jesmond Old Cemetery on Wednesday 11 May is now full up. There are still a few places left on Saturday 28 May. If you are interested, contact friendsofjoc@gmail.com quickly, before that tour fills up as well!
Listen out for the Bells of St George’s Church, which will ring out between 10 and 10:30 am on Saturday 7 May, to celebrate the start of the 2022 Jesmond Community Festival.
The Stream Dipping event, due to be held by the Friends of the Valley, Little Dene and Little Dene Park on 14 May, has had to be cancelled, as there is not enough water in the stream!
We didn’t hear about this event until after the festival programme had been printed, but it sounds great! 7:30pm, Friday 13 May at Jesmond URC, Burdon Terrace.
