As part of the 2023 Jesmond Community Festival Jesmond Pool and Gym are promoting 4 splendid musical treats at Jesmond United Reformed Church: three lunchtime recitals on 25, 26 and 27 May, and A Parisian Musical Soiree on Friday 2 June.

Ceilidh tickets now on sale

All welcome at Jesmond Community Festival’s first Ceilidh for several years, featuring the Redheughers Ceilidh Band. Admission Adults £7, Children (4-16 years) £3, Children under 4 free. Tickets are now available to purchase from Jesmond Library. Bring your own drinks, glasses and snacks. The venue is St Hilda’s Church Hall, Thornleigh Road, Jesmond, close to West Jesmond Metro station and the date is Friday 19 May.

A Parisian Musical Soiree

The Festival event originally planned for Saturday 13 May in Jesmond United Reformed Church will now take place on Friday 2 June instead, same time and same place. Many apologies for any inconvenience caused, especially as the printed festival programme will now be incorrect, for this event.

The programme for the evening is as follows:

Songs, Vocal Ensembles and Piano Music by Offenbach, Bizet, Berlioz, Delibes, Saint-Saens and more, performed by Jane Corbitt (soprano), Delia McNally (mezzo soprano), Les Hodgson (tenor), John McCauley (narrator/bass) and Len Young (piano). Tickets £12. Refreshments available.

The event will commence at 7:30pm.

Are you organising a festival event, and would like ice cream to be available? If so, you might like to contact thejesmondicecreamcompany@gmail.com . Their fun trike retails Doddingtons ice cream tubs in 11 flavours, Scoop’s ice cream for dogs, and home baked cakes. The trike will definitely be at the Tour de Jesmond on 7 May and the Big Friendly Gathering on 8 May.
