Unfortunately due to unforeseen circumstances Jesmond WI have had to cancel their originally planned “Medical and Humour” talk on the evening of 16 May. However they have been very fortunate to find as a replacement speaker Caroline Mitchell, Professor of Radio and Participation at the University of Sunderland and co-founder of Fem FM, the first women’s radio station in the UK. The meeting is at 7:30 pm in St George’s Church Hall.

A special visitor turned up at today’s Plant Stall in Acorn Road. The stall was organised by supporters of Jesmond Community Orchard, and as usual, was very popular!

An early start for the 2022 Jesmond Community Festival as Friends of Jesmond Dene (and friends) met outside the Jesmond Dene Visitors’ Centre for a Dawn Chorus Walk, led by Mike Cook. A very cheerful bunch, despite the time!

A late addition to the festival programme, and one of the more unusual events in this year’s Jesmond Community Festival. The “Jesus in Islam” exhibition is promoted by the Islamic Diversity Centre, and takes place in Jesmond Library on 27 May (between 2 and 8pm).
